Alumnus Delivers Keynote Address at Grad School Commencement

RADFORD -- “Be brave. Be honest. Be bold.” That is the message David Cohen, MS ’97, delivered to the nearly 350 graduates during Radford University’s Graduate College Commencement and Hooding Ceremony.

Cohen’s address is the first time in the ceremony’s history that a keynote speaker has been featured, a tradition the college hopes to continue in future years. Cohen was chosen as the inaugural speaker for the great deal of success he has achieved in the short period of time since his graduation and his commitment to his alma mater.

“One of the best decisions I ever made was choosing Radford University for my graduate program,” said Cohen during his remarks. Cohen is co-founder and president of DCI Consulting, a Washington D.C.-based company that provides consulting services and software to employers on a variety of human resources risk management systems.

Cohen describes DCI Consulting as a “niche company,” one of only four in the United States that specializes in class action employment discrimination cases.

DCI works with clients “in the areas of equal employment opportunity/affirmative action program development, systemic compensation statistical analyses, comprehensive human resources self-audits and employee selection and test validation,” Cohen explained.
