Traditionally, all RU graduation candidates have worn black caps and gowns, but this year a change is being made to red in honor of the university’s Centennial Celebration. Students earning graduate degrees will continue to wear black caps and gowns.

Each graduate candidate, undergraduate and graduate, will have an option of having RU’s Centennial logo embroidered on the gown’s lapel.

The cost of the red cap Gown logoand gown is $32 and $42 with the blue embroidered Centennial logo. Graduate caps and gowns are $62, and $72 with a red embroidered Centennial logo. Prices above do not include sales tax.

Caps and gowns are on display and are available for purchase at the RU Bookstore.

“The Radford University Bookstore is excited that we have the opportunity to offer a new cap and gown this year,” Bookstore Manager Benjie Saunders said. “We think it is a very nice way to help celebrate the Centennial of Radford University.”
