RADFORD -- A sculpture installation by Radford University alumnus Jennifer Martin, M.F.A ’94, is on display through April at the Armory Sculpture Garden in Key West, Fla.

Martin says, “Visitors to the garden will discover that the grounds have been invaded by what seem to be floating colorful spheres.” “Color Play-Leaving White” includes separate forms, each assembled with painted organic shapes cut from aluminum and wired to steel forms.

Installation pieces are three-dimensional representations of behavioral and emotional relationships applied to form and color theory. Martin’s invitation to install a sculpture at the garden inspired the work. She says, “The polyptych sculpture ensemble was created to complement the creative environment of this art center."

Martin experiments with materials in her paintings, working to connect art and theories of science research projects. She has exhibited at galleries and museums in the South and is foremost represented by Charest-Weinberg Gallery in Miami, Fla.
