Theta Iota Chapter Named College Chapter of the Year

RADFORD -- The Virginia Association of Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (VACAPAF) recently named RU's Theta Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha the College Chapter of the Year during a state convention held earlier this month. Member and chapter president Nana "T-Chee" Kum (pictured) was named College Brother of the Year and Brother with the Highest GPA.

Nana KumThe joint RU/Virginia Tech chapter was also acknowledged for its level of hospitality as members of the Host Convention Committee.

The chapter is currently preparing a presentation for the Eastern Region Convention to be held in Philadelphia April 2-5. Several members of the chapter will be applying for distinguished national awards and scholarships that will be announced during the General Convention in New Orleans July 15-19.

The Alpha Phi Alpha Education Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit charitable arm of Alpha Phi Alpha. The foundation focuses on scholarships, programs, training and development of the membership.
