RU Professor Tells of Life in 1960s Paris in New Book

RADFORD – Radford University French professor Eric du Plessis provides insight into the life of a teenager growing up in France in the 1960s in his latest memoir.

Eric du PlessisIn The Life of a Teenage Schoolboy in Paris during the 1960s, du Plessis delights readers with stories from medieval boarding schools, college and a brief stint in medical school before eventually immigrating to the United States.

The Life of a Teenage Schoolboy in Paris during the 1960s is published by The Edwin Mellen Press, which describes du Plessis’ work as a unique social and historical document that constitutes an original contribution to the field of comparative cultural studies.

“One finds just about everything a reader could want in Eric’s memoir – a revealing social document, adventure, cultural history, splendid descriptions, remembrance to the finest details, characters who seem larger than life, humor, high jinks, action, heartbreak, love, coming of age and, yes, a hero,” writes RU English professor Louis Gallo in his preface to the book.
