RU Student Kim Gibson Wins National Scholarship
RADFORD For the second consecutive year, a Radford University counselor of education student has been selected as a recipient of the Ross Trust Scholarships administered by the American Counseling Association (ACA). Kim Gibson of Roanoke is one of 10 master’s and five doctoral level students receiving $1,000 awards.
Gibson, who graduates this spring, said, “I am honored to be a recipient of the Ross Trust Graduate Scholarship Award. I am even more honored to be nominated by such an excellent faculty. This is a wonderful way to celebrate my last semester in the Counselor Education program. This program has truly been a blessing in my life.” The Ross Trust was established through the generosity of Roland and Dorothy Ross to provide scholarships to students preparing for counseling roles in the nation’s elementary, middle and secondary schools. Roland Ross was an active member of ACA for several years. |
