RADFORD -- David Galuski, a student in the College of Business and Economics, was chosen to ring the NASDAQ closing bell at 4 p.m. Thursday. The ceremony was telecast globally.

Galuski, along with several other RU student members of the Student Managed Investment Portfolio Organization (SMIPO), are attending the annual Redefining Investment Strategy Education Forum at the University of Dayton. The closing bell ceremony marked the first NASDAQ remote ceremony ever on a college campus.

SMIPO is one of 16 student portfolio teams which have been invited to present before a national panel of investment professionals. The bell ringing was shown live on the NASDAQ website.
