RADFORD – "New Horizons," a concert featuring a world premiere by  Radford University faculty composer Bruce Mahin, is Thursday, March 20, 8 p.m., in Radford University's Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall.

The Winston Salem State University string trio will perform Mahin's Le Sens as well as string trios by Austrian composer Egon Wellesz. Performances by RU music faculty David Allen, clarinetist, and Thomas Bithell, trumpeter, will showcase works inspired by the search for new sounds on orchestral instruments. These pieces extend performances beyond standard fare to include such techniques as electronic processing of the instrument's sound.
