RU Wins CASE Award

RADFORD – Radford University’s Office of University Relations received a 2007 Special Merit Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, District III, for an interactive CD-ROM produced for RU’s College of Education and Human Development.

CASE award“How Many Ways Can You Change the World?” is intended for use by young people who are considering career and college possibilities. Objectives of the CD-ROM are to inspire students to consider careers in helping professions and to inform them about undergraduate programs in the College of Education and Human Development.

University Relations project leaders were Kathie Dickenson, project coordinator, script writer and production coordinator, and Steven May, videographer and post-production coordinator. RU’s Office of Radio, Television and Communication Services also assisted. More than 75 students, faculty, staff and community members participated in the project. Special thanks go to the Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation, the Coffee Mill in Radford, Hunter’s Ridge Apartments in Radford, and Tuck Chiropractic Clinic in Christiansburg for providing video shoot locations.

CASE District III comprises colleges, universities, independent schools and other educational organizations in the southeastern U.S. RU’s award is in the category “CD-ROM and Other Electronic Communications.”
