School of Social Work Hosts Open House Feb. 17 in Roanoke

RADFORD – Students interested in earning a Master of Social Work degree are encouraged to attend Radford University’s School of Social Work open house on Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Roanoke.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet faculty and students from the School of Social Work and learn about its part-time graduate program in Roanoke, which emphasizes community-based family practice. The event will be held at Virginia Western Community College, Thomas Center, room 202, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, followed by an information session.

Admission to RU’s MSW program in Roanoke is limited for students who have a bachelor’s degree in social work. All other students will attend the majority of their classes in Radford.

RU’s School of Social Work is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The school is one of the largest in the Commonwealth of Virginia and focuses on preparing students to work with individuals, families, groups, communities and organizations in a variety of ways.
