RU Graduate Students to Present Research at Prestigious Forum

RADFORD – Seven Radford University graduate students will present research at the prestigious fourth annual Graduate Student Research Forum hosted by the Virginia Council of Graduate Schools (VCGS) on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 4 p.m. in the Library of Virginia in Richmond, VA.

"Radford University is eager to highlight its contribution to the Commonwealth, region and nation at this important event by featuring the quality and breadth of our graduate programs and students," said Dr. Nora Reilly, associate dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.

Representing RU at the forum will be:

  • Bethany Imbody, a candidate for a master’s degree in social work, who will present research on professional preparedness for addressing elder abuse;
  • Meghan Lamberta and Kara Nuckols, candidates for master’s degrees in social work, who will present their findings on the effects of equine therapy for autistic children;
  • Brandon Jones and Deana Cox, both candidates for master’s degrees in criminal justice, who will present their research into spatial analysis techniques that pinpoint the locations of armed robbery and aggravated assault in urban areas;
  • Paul Masinelli and Ryan Book, candidates for master’s degrees in music, who will perform solo and duo works for the classical guitar.

The RU representatives will joining more than 60 other graduate students from across the state whose research and presentations align with the priorities of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to demonstrate the critical link between university research and the economic development of the Commonwealth and the well-being of its citizens.
