Introduction

The Office of Public Relations at Radford University has compiled the Experts Guide to make the university's educational expertise more readily available to people in the New River Valley and throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Through this publication, Radford University faculty and staff are available to speak to schools, clubs, civic and religious organizations and representatives of the media on a wide variety of subjects, both current and historic. They also have expressed a willingness to serve as sources for both news and/or feature stories.

Media representatives may arrange a telephone or personal interview with any of those listed in this guide by calling the News Bureau in the Office of Public Relations at (540) 831-5324. Ask for one of the information officers.

Speakers Bureau

Speakers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Groups must expect to have at least 15 people in attendance. Groups must expect to have at least 15 people in attendance. There is no fee for the service; faculty and staff volunteer their time to the Speakers Bureau.

How to Request a Speaker

• Choose your speakers and their topics. The first part of this guide is arranged by subject area, and there is also an alphabetical listing of speakers.
  
• Complete a Speakers Bureau Request Form. Be sure to include a second and third choice. (The form can be downloaded from here, printed and submitted, or you can receive a copy by mail or fax by contacting the Office of Public Relations.)
  
• Requests must be made in writing no less than three weeks in advance. Please include a contact person with your organization as well as a phone number where that person may be reached during regular working hours. A representative of the Office of Public Relations will confirm the engagement as soon as possible after receiving the request.
