RU Foundation Names Executive Director
RADFORD -- The Radford University Foundation has hired John Cox as its executive director.
In his new role at RU, Cox will manage the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, working closely with both the Board of Directors and university staff. “My staff and I have to manage the assets that have been entrusted to us, by alumni, faculty, staff and other supporters of Radford University,” Cox said.
Before joining the Radford University Foundation in late October, Cox served as vice president and chief financial officer of Hillcrest Educational Centers in Pittsfield, Mass.
A graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., Cox spent the last 20 years as chief financial officer for three non-profit corporations. He also served as volunteer treasurer of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Syracuse for eight years, and was a member of the finance committee for the Berkshire County United Way.
“Having been a CFO for several large non-profits, being an executive director seems like a natural progression,” Cox said. “I am very excited about the career opportunity and the chance to be part of the Radford community. If people see anyone around town wearing a Radford sweatshirt and a New York Yankees cap, please say hello. It's probably me.”
