Help Feed the Hungry with RU Greek Life’s “Fill the Truck Food Drive”
RADFORD -- This holiday season, Radford University’s Greek Life community has set a bold goal of collecting 10,000 pounds or more of non-perishable items for the local food bank during its “Fill the Truck Food Drive.” Collection times are scheduled for Dec. 7-9, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Bonnie Plaza. The event is part of the university’s year-long Centennial celebration.
If every RU student, faculty member and staff member donates just one non-perishable food item for the drive, organizers believe their goal of collecting 10,000 pounds or more of food for those in need can easily be achieved, if not exceeded.
Some of the most needed food items: canned meats (such as tuna, chicken, etc.), peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, boxed pasta/rice, cereal, and canned meals (such as spaghetti, ravioli, etc.). For more information about the truck food drive, call (540) 831-5478; email firstname.lastname@example.org; or stop by the Greek Life Office in the Bonnie.
