RU Centennial Featured in Radford Heritage Foundation Calendar

RADFORD – The 2010 Radford Heritage Foundation (RHF) calendar, entitled “Celebrating The Century,” is now available.  The annual RHF-produced calendar will feature a Radford University retrospective in commemoration of the university’s centennial celebration which begins on January 1, 2010.

The calendar is on sale for $10 at these Main Street Radford outlets: Studio C, Meg’s, Taylor Office Supply, Uptown Nails, Radford Bike and Paddle, Chrysalis, Good Looks Salon, The Medicine Shop, The Book Exchange, The RU Bookstore and Glencoe Museum. The calendar can also be ordered through the RU Alumni office by calling (540) 831-5248 or emailing Phone or mail orders will incur an additional $3.50 processing fee to cover shipping and handling costs and sales tax.

“We are excited about this opportunity to partner with RU’s Centennial Committee and feature the history of Radford University which has had a profound impact on the history of our community,” said Ian Fortier, RHF executive director.

The four-color calendar is sponsored by Taylor Hollow Construction and the  proceeds will benefit the RHF. Historic photography that chronicles RU’s development and important dates in the life of the university which opened on the hills overlooking East Radford in 1910 as the State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Radford are the calendar’s central elements.
