RADFORD – Dr. Bruce Chase and Elizabeth Jamison of Radford University will be among the featured speakers at the professional development workshop co-hosted by the Roanoke chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and Radford University’s Government and Non-Profit Assistance Center (GNAC). The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27 in Room 608 at the Roanoke Higher Education Center.

During the all-day workshop, Chase, professor of accounting and director of the GNAC, will discuss the new fund balance reporting standard for state and local governments covered by GASB 54 and Jamison, director of RU’s Master of Business Administration program, will speak on “Managing in Tough Economic Times.”

Chase and Jamison will be joined as presenters at the workshop by Thomas Wellman of the Virginia State Library, Brooke Bredel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Susan Austin, director of Emergency Services, Mount Rogers CSB.
