U.S. House of Representatives Honors Radford University
RADFORD -- The United States House of Representatives has honored Radford University's Centennial. This week, the House passed the bipartisan H.R. 1182, congratulating RU on the 100th anniversary of the signing of its charter.
Representative Rick Boucher introduced the bill and it was co-sponsored by eight other members of the Virginia House delegation. Senator Jim Webb and Senator Mark Warner recently led efforts to have a companion resolution passed by the U.S. Senate.
“Radford University is located in my congressional district, but its achievements bring pride not just to our region but to citizens across Virginia,” said Representative Boucher in his floor statement. “The University's graduates reside in communities throughout the nation who share in the congratulations that today Congress formally extends to Radford University for 100 years of outstanding service.”
