Randall Elected Student Government Association President

RADFORD -- Randi-Lyn Randall, a rising senior from Lansing, N.Y., has been elected the 2010-2011 Radford University Student Government Association President. In this role, Randall will serve as the official representative of the SGA and as a liaison between the student body and RU’s administration.

Randi-Lyn RandallRandall’s experience in her current position as SGA’s vice president of student finance helped motivate her to seek the presidency.

“Being able to become a part of a group that harbors so much diversity and passion for their campus is extremely motivational,” she said. “Finding a core group of students that want to lead positive change and have the passion to do it has a contagious effect on everyone.“

According to Randall, who is majoring in communication, her main goal as president will to be increase team building among all Radford University students.

“When individuals evolve into a group and then transform into a team, mountains can be moved,” she said. “I really want all the clubs and organizations, administration and students, faculty and staff, new students and graduate students to feel the community presence both on and off campus.”

Randall will officially be sworn into office at the SGA banquet on May 1. Her duties will begin immediately as she begins planning with the new SGA Executive Board for the upcoming school year.

In addition to SGA, Randall is also a member of Delta Zeta, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Collegiate Entrepreneurs. She also serves as a peer instructor for both University 100 and LEAD 110.
