Raleigh, N.C. - Radford track and field compete in day one of the Raleigh Relays from Paul Derr Track & Field Stadium on Friday. Highs place three top-ten finishes on the day. Senior sprinter Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.) garnered first (1:00.28) in the 400 meter hurdles and qualified for Saturday's event in the 100 meter hurdles with an 11th place finish. Sophomore thrower Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.) placed eighth and threw a distance of 46'05.50" in the shot. On the men's side sophomores Brian Richotte (Berkley, Mich.) and Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) placed 11th and 13th respectively in the discus. Richotte threw a distance of 143-08 while teammate Spence tossed a 140-08. Sophomore James Nixon (Prince George, Va.) finished 10th in the shot with a mark of 49-06.50.
