Radford, Va. - Senior sprinter Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.) and sophomore throwers Brian Richotte (Berkley, Mich.) and Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships to be held May 27-28 in Randall’s Island, N.Y.

Quarles qualified in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.28 at the Raleigh Relays. Richotte and Spence both qualified in the hammer throw. Richotte recorded a throw of 60.70 meters at the Raleigh Relays, while Spence tossed a distance of 59.98 meters at the Charlotte 49ers Classic.

The Highlanders return to action April 2 in Lynchburg, Va. to compete at the Liberty Invitational.
