Highlanders Send Four to Track and Field East Regionals

Gainesville. -- Seniors Goran Nava (Castello Di Brianza, Italy) and Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.), along with freshmen Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.) and Jeremiah Spence (Riner, Va.) will compete at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Regionals today and tomorrow at Percy Beard Stadium on the campus of the University of Florida.

Nava will compete in the 1500 meters and Quarles in the 400 meter hurdles on the opening day of the meet. The preliminary heats begin for Nava at 4:20 p.m. and Quarles at 7:30 p.m. tonight. If either qualifies for the finals on Saturday, Nava will run at 6:23 p.m. and Quarles at 7:30 p.m.

Competing on Saturday, Evans in the shot put and Spence in the discus will go at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively.
