Nava Places Second in 1500 at East Regionals; Qualifies for NCAA's

Gainesville, Fla. -- Radford senior Goran Nava (Castello Di Brianza, Italy) is headed to the NCAA Track and Field Championships with a second place finish in the 1500 at the NCAA East Regionals at Percy Beard Stadium on the campus of the University of Florida.

In a tightly contested race that saw the top seven runners finish within .51 seconds, Nava with a time of 3:50.24 was edged out for the individual title by American’s Sean Duffy by .12 seconds. Also, he narrowly placed ahead of Georgia Tech’s Brendon Mahoney and Georgia’s Simon Ngata by .01 and .03 second respectively.

Tiffany Evans (Dumfries, Va.)
also competed on Saturday, placing 25th in the shot put with a toss of 45-06.50.

Nava will travel to Austin, Texas and the University of Texas for the NCAA meet which will be held from June 9-12.
