Nava Wins Winthrop Fall Classic Title
Claims Fourth First Place Finish in Six Races this Season

Rock Hill, S.C. - Radford University's Goran Nava (Castello de Brianza, Italy) won for the fourth time this season, claiming the Winthrop Fall Classic in Rock Hill, S.C. The senior, who has finished in the top two in all six races, ran away with the victory. He finished with a time of 24:47.30, 25 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Kevin Crosby of Furman.

Tim Dutton (Virginia Beach, Va.) placed 10th with a time of 26:37.39 for the Highlanders who finished six overall. Tricia Benson (Salem, Va.) and Maria Geary (Harrisonburg, Va.) were the top two runners for the women who finished fourth with 100 points. Benson and Geary posted times of 20:11.73 and 20:16.55 for 16th and 18th respectively.

Furman won both races, while Winthrop's Stephanie Vangsnes claimed the women's title with a 38 second victory.

Radford will be off until Nov. 1, when they head to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Big South Championships hosted by Coastal Carolina.
