Women's Tennis Edged at Asheville, 4-3

Asheville, N.C. - Radford was edged by UNC Asheville, 4-3, in women's tennis action from the Asheville Racquet Club late last night. The match was moved indoors due to the inclement weather in Asheville and started at 8 pm.

In doubles action, UNCA earned the point taking the No. 1 and 3 matches. The No. 2 team of junior Caroline Downs (Radford, Va.) and freshman Camila Nolden (Florianopolis, Brazil) picked up a victory, 8-3.

The teams split in singles play. The Bulldogs earned victories at No. 1, 2 and 6. For Radford, Downs, freshman Ashton Downs (Radford, Va.) and freshman Cassandra Price (Deland, Fla.) won at No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively.

The Highlanders will head to Winthrop for a match with the Eagles on Sunday at 1 pm.
