Highlanders Head to Northeast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships

RADFORD, Va. - Radford University will participate at the Northeast Conference Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, which will take place Thursday, February 17th through Saturday, February 19th at Prince George’s County Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, MD. The Highlanders, picked to finish sixth in the NEC Preseason Coaches Poll, will look to junior Julie Brooks (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper) who was the only Highlander to post victories during the 2004 NEC Championships. Brooks claimed the victory in the 200 IM setting a new meet record of 2:06.56. She also was the winner of the 400 IM posting a time of 4:26.62.

The Highs lowered the school record in 18 swimming events (13 individual and 5 relays) at the 2004 NEC Championships. Brooks and Kelly Wallace (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) claimed four records a piece, while Erica Crossman (Stanton, Va./Robert E. Lee) set three, Kristan Deckert (Moseley, Va./Clover Hill) two and Stacie Bliss (Chesapeake, Va./Indian River ) one.
