Highlanders Fall to Marshall and Gardner-Webb

Radford, Va. -- Radford University fell to Gardner-Webb and Marshall this afternoon in swimming and diving action from the Dedmon Center Natatorium. The Highs fell to the Bulldogs 192-84 and Marshall 193-100. GWU defeated Marshall, 152-135.

Julie Brooks (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper) and Kelly Wallace (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) picked up individual wins for the Highlanders in the 100 and 200 backstroke respectively. Brooks lowered her school record with a time of 1:02.10, while Wallace posted a 2:13.46 in her victory. Mary Beth Crawford (Casanova, Va./Highland) earned RU's only other top-three finish with a second in the one-meter diving with 137 points.

Marshall's Terra Wilson and Gardner-Webb's Lisa Fry posted three individual victories for their respective universities. Milla Kuurto and Erika Nlsson earned a pair of individual wins and were also part of the Thundering Herd's winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Radford returns to the pool next weekend when they participate in the Gardner-Webb Invitational from Nov. 21-23.
