Highlanders Fall at Marshall, 122-111

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -Radford's swimming and diving team dropped a close affair with Marshall University, falling 121-111 to the Thundering Herd. The Highlanders posted a victory in the 200 Medley Relay and Shelia Brosnan picked up the lone individual victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.51. Despite Marshal picking up 12 first place finishes, the Highlanders were able to stay in the meet with 10 second and 11 third place finishes.

Radford’s 200 medley team of Krista Menkedick, Lindsey LeCroy, Raven Wray and Erin Patterson opened the meet with a victory, finishing with a time of 2:02.37. To go along with her win in the 100 backstroke, Brosnan added a second in the 200 IM, and was a member of the second place 800 freestyle relay team with Stephanie Muehleib, Erica Crossman and Julie Brooks with a school record time of 8:36.16.

Also placing second for the Highlanders were Brooks in the 200 free, Patterson in the 50 free, Tina Rogers in the one and three meter dives, Wray in the 100 butterfly, Amy Ferry in the 100 free, Menkedick in the 100 back and Crossman in the 100 breaststroke. Brooks, Patterson and Wray all set school records with times of 2:03.68, 26.42 and 1:02.33 respectively.

The Highlanders return to the Dedmon Center on Sunday when they host Washington and Lee at noon.
