Porter, Hooker Garner VaSID Honors Richmond, Va. -- Senior Nikki Porter (Maryville, Tenn.) and junior Jonita Hooker (Woodbridge, Va.) were named to the VaSID Women’s Soccer University Division Second Team. The awards were voted upon by members of the Virginia Sports Information It was the third consecutive year Porter was named to the All-Virginia team, while it was Hooker’s first honor. Porter finished her career at Radford as one of the most prolific scorers in school history. She finished her career ranked second in goals (41) and points (104) and fourth in assists (22). She was a four-time First-Team All-Big South selection and two-time Conference Player of the Year. Hooker, in her second season with the Highlanders, was named First-Team All-Big South as she led Radford with 12 goals, University of Virginia junior midfielder Sarah Huffman was named VaSID Women’s Soccer University Division Player of the Year and Virginia head coach Steve Swanson was named Coach of the Year by the organization. |
