Highlanders Blanked by Tennessee Tech, 1-0

RADFORD, Va. - Radford's Women's Soccer team dropped their first game of the season, 1-0 to Tennessee Tech at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium this evening. The Highlanders fall to 2-1, while the Golden Eagles remain undefeated at 2-0-1.

In the 12th minute, TTU's Jill Burns corralled a 50-50 ball in the six-yard box a placed in the back of the net for the only tally of the game. RU had several opportunities throughout the game, outshooting the Golden Eagles 18-10, eight of those from Jevne Reid (Columbia, Md.). Tech's keeper Carly King came up big making 10 saves, while Samantha Woods (Boones Mill, Va.) made three for the Highlanders.

This ends a three-game homestand for the Highlanders as they begin a five-game stretch away from home on Sunday against Appalachian State at 3 p.m.
