Highlanders Place Eighth at Wofford SPARTANBURG, S.C.-- Radford’s women’s golf team finished eighth out of 10 teams at the Coca-Cola Terrier Intercollegiate this past weekend at the Carolina Country Club. The Highlanders shot a two-day total of 709 (361-348). Senior Meredith Roberts (Purcellville, Va.) was RU’s top finisher, placing tied for 12th overall with a 162 (79-83). Senior Keri Reilly (Weedsport, N.Y.) shot a 172 (92-80) to place 33rd. Junior Stacy Brewer (Fairfax, Va.) was Radford’s third finished, checking in tied for 37th overall with a 176 (92-84). Junior Dana Doganes (Leesport, Pa.) scored a 199 (98-101) to place 50th overall. Rounding out the highlander finishers was Tiana Patierne (Ballston Spa, N.Y.), who placed 54th overall with a 215 (108-107). East Tennessee State won the event with a 631 (319-312). Barry College’s Nicole Wildes took home medalist honors with a 152 (76-76). High Point, which placed second with a 650 (328-322) was the only other Big South team at the event. Radford will be off until March 18-19 when it will head to League rival Winthrop for the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. The RU men’s golf team will also compete in the Winthrop Invitational, with the men’s tournament slated for March 14-15. |
