Highlanders Improve, Finish 10th At William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.-- Radford women's golf finished 10th in the 36-hole William & Mary Invitational, shooting a 660 (337-323) at Ford's Colony Country Club Sunday. The Highlanders improved their standing from day one when they placed 13th. Rollins College won the event with a 603 (299-304).

Senior Meredith Roberts (Purcellville, Va.) was RU's top finisher, placing 19th with a 159 (78-81). Junior Stacy Brewer (Fairfax, Va.) tallied a 165 (84-81) to tie for 35th overall. Junior Dana Doganes (Leesport, Pa.) shot a 167 (86-81) to tie for 45th overall. Senior Keri Reilly (Weedsport, N.Y.) rounded out the Radford scoring with a 169 (89-80), placing tied for 51st overall.

Winthrop, which shot a 654 (325-329) and Bucknell 654 (328-326), the other Big South teams at the event, tied for seventh. Longwood’s Stephanie Hicks took home medalist honors with a 143 (73-70).

The Highlanders will next play in the Georgetown Invitational in Leesburg, Va. on April 2-3.
