Radford Women’s Golf Finishes In Sixth At Big South Championships

NINETY-SIX, S.C.-- Radford’s women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the 2005 Palmetto Utility Protection Service Big South Conference Championships, vaulting over Charleston Southern, who finished seventh. The Highlanders shot a 990 (336-327-327), at the event, which was played at The Patriot at Grand Harbor.

Senior Meredith Roberts (Purcellville, Va.) was Radford’s top finisher, placing in 19th overall with a 241 (82-82-77). Senior Keri Reilly (Weedsport, N.Y.) shot a 247 (85-81-81), to tie for 26th overall. Junior Stacy Brewer (Fairfax, Va.) finished in 29th place overall with a 248 (86-82-80). Junior Dana Doganes (Leesport, Pa.) rounded out the RU scoring with a 248 (83-82-80) to place 30th overall.

Coastal Carolina overtook Birmingham-Southern to win the event with a 906. Birmingham-Southern finished second, followed by High Point, Winthrop and Bucknell. Charleston Southern and Holy Cross finished seventh and eighth respectively. Coastal Carolina’s Line Cordes leads took home medalist honors with a 216 (72-73-71).
