Terebey Claims Scholar-Athlete, All Conference Honors; Radford In Fifth At Big South Tournament GREENWOOD, S.C. - Radford's Laura Terebey earned Big South Scholar-Athlete and All-Conference honors the Big South Conference announced Tuesday night at the Women's Golf Banquet. The banquet is part of the 2004 PUPS Big South Conference Women’s Golf Championship, which concluded day two with the Highlanders in fifth place today. Terebey is tied for third place with a two-day total of 154 (75-79). Dana Doganes checked in tied at 18th overall, shooting an 166 (85-81) to finish second for the Highlanders. Keri Reilly was the Highlanders' number three finisher, carding an 170 (87-83) to tie for 28th overall. Stacy Brewer finished fourth for RU with a 171 (88-83) to tie for 31st overall. Meredith Roberts rounded out the Highlander golfers with an 179, good for 36th overall. The Highlanders are in fifth with High Point after posting a total team score of 661 (335-326). Coastal Carolina is leading the event with a team score of 630. UNC Wilmington’s Beck Berzonski shot a 69 today to take a seven-stroke lead for medalist honors. Terebey was voted All-Conference for her performance this season, posting a stroke average of 77.5 in 14 round. She won the Lady Cougar Invitational and the Wofford Invitational and was the top finisher in five tournaments this season for the Highlanders. Terebey also garnered the League’s top women’s golf academic award The Big South tournament concludes Wednesday. The winner will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Women's Golf Tournament. |
