Terebey Tied For Second After Day One

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Sophomore Laura Terebey fired a 36 hole 150 to finish tied for second after the opening round of the Lady Pirate Spring Golf Classic at the Bradford Creek Golf Club in Greenville, N.C.

Terebey carded identical 75 in the morning and afternoon sessions to tie for second with Jenny Gleason on UNC Greensboro and Becky Berzonski of UNC Wilmington. East Carolina’s Ashely Leonard (74-74=148) leads the tournament by two strokes.

Other Highlanders, Meredith Roberts (T-47th, 87-82=169); Tina Valahakis (T-56th, 88-84=172); Keri Reilly (74th, 90-87=177); and Andrea Wright (T-79th, 93-88=181).

The Highlanders opened the round with a 668 aggregate after posting a 340-328, 36 hole total and tie Wyoming for 12 place after the first day. North Carolina Wilmington (312-302=614) leads after the first day, holding a one-stroke lead over host East Carolina (305-310=615).

The 17-team field will resume competition tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
