Highlanders Announce 2003-04 Team Awards Radford, Va. -- Radford University's women's basketball program concluded 2003-04 with an end-of-the-year team banquet held at the Radford Inn Best Western. The evening included dinner, team awards, a season highlight video and the honoring of the five departing seniors. After handing out the statistical accolades, head coach Jeri Porter announced the team awards which were voted on by the team and support staff. Amanda Neby and Taryn Causey were honored as co-MVPs. Robin Kantin was named top defender and Cody Silker earned the Hustle Award. Sarah Stephens and Jesse Brunjak were presented with the Most Improved and Coaches Award. In a special presentation made by seniors Neby and Kylie Williamson, the Janney family was honored as the 2003-04 Fan of the Year for their tremendous support of the Highlanders throughout the season. The banquet concluded with Porter presenting the five seniors, Neby, Williamson, Silker, Heather Perez and Magdalena Pietrzyk with jerseys and pictures. Radford finished the season 15-14 and reached the semifinals of the Big South Conference Tournament. |
