Highlanders Fall at High Point, 64-53, Drop Sixth Straight
High Point's Misty Brockman led all scorers with 26 points. Ludmila Nicheporchuk (Minsk, Belarus) and Amanda Neby (Plymouth, Minn.) led the Highlanders with 15 points apiece. Hanna Statsenka (Minsk, Belarus) posted a double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Highlanders jumped out to a 12-6 lead behind a pair of three's from Nicheporchuk. With RU ahead, 14-10, the Panthers used a 12-0 run during the Highlander drought to forge ahead for good. HPU took a 33-25 lead into the lockerroom. Radford got to within three points at 39-36 with 15:37 left in the second half, but that would be as close as they would get. The Highlanders outrebounded the Panthers, 40-37, but turned the ball over 21 times, 13 in the first half, to only 15 for High Point. Radford remains on the road when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. on Sat., Jan. 11 for a matchup with Winthrop at 7 p.m. |
