Highlanders Lose To Charleston Southern

RADFORD, Va.--Radford volleyball lost its third Big South game Saturday, falling 3-1 to Charleston Southern at the Dedmon Center. The one win snapped a streak in which the Highlanders had not won a game in nine matches. (Box Score)

RU, who has lost 10 straight matches, lost 30-19, 30-22, 23-30 and 30-24 to fall to 2-11 overall and 0-3 in the Big South. The win was CSU’s first Big South victory of the year, and it improved the Bucs record to 4-8 overall and 1-4 in the Big South.

Senior Kate McHugh and junior Elizabeth Aldredge led the RU attach, registering 11 and 10 kills respectively. Senior Bliss Mulligan recorded 14 digs. Freshman Josie Hanners had 39 assists in the loss.

Sophomore Jenni Shepherd, junior Victoria Owens and freshman Andrea Kmet had 10, 16 and 10 kills respectively for Charleston Southern. Junior Katie O’Riordan had 39 assists while sophomore Olivia Terzo and Owen had 17 and 14 digs respectively.

Radford will be at Winthrop on Friday for another Big South match. Charleston Southern will host cross town rival The Citadel Wednesday. Both matches begin at 7:00 pm
