Highlanders Fall To Herd In Opener HUNTINGTON, W.Va.--Radford volleyball droped its season-opening match to Marshall in three games, 14-30, 16-30 and 18-30. The Highlanders fall to 0-1 while the Thundering Herd starts the year 1-0. (Box Score) Junior Divona Cox led the Highlanders with five kills while freshman Josie Hanners had nine assists. Marshall (1-0), used a 20-kill performance from Kelly-Anne Billingy in her freshman debut to take down the Highlanders in the Cam Henderson Center. Billingy finished the match with a .655 hitting percentage. and a double-double with 12 digs to go along with her 20 kills. Radford heads to Holy Cross for the Holy Cross Invitational. The Highlanders will face Siena, Youngstown State and Holy Cross. The first match is set for Friday at 5:00 pm against Siena. The Thundering Herd is set to hit the road this weekend as it heads to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Demon Deacon Invitational. |
