Lipscomb Outlasts Volleyball in Five

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Kristin Peck recorded a match-high 19 kills and Brittney Lanius chipped in a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs, as Lipscomb knocked off Radford in the opening game of the Pirate Invitational. Game Scores Lipscomb, 30-18, 29-31, 33-31, 29-31, 15-12.

Divona Cox and Sarah Gates each had 10 kills for the Highlanders. Bliss Mulligan chipped in 37 assists for Radford.

Lipscomb built an 18-9 lead in game one, then outscored the Highlanders, 9-6 down the stretch to capture game one, 30-18 . Radford used two kills and two service aces by Kate McHugh to rally from a 15-10 deficit and defeat Lipscomb in game two. After Lipscomb held off the Highlanders in game three, 33-31, RU forced game five when a kill by Gates and an attacking error by Lipscomb's Lindsey Rutherford broke a 29-29 tie.

In game five, the Lady Bisons score eight of the games final 12 points to capture their first win of the season.
