Volleyball Closesout Regular Season With 3-1 Loss At Liberty Becky Rudnick tallied a match high 20 kills as Liberty knocked off Radford 3-1 (27-30, 30-24, 30-13, 30-20) Friday evening in the Big South women's volleyball action from the Vines Center. The win lifts the Lady Flames record to 16-16 overall and 9-5 in league play while the Highlanders fall to 8-24 and 4-10 respectively. Radford held a 20-19 lead in the first game and broke it open with a 6-2 scoring spree before holding on for the opening game win. The Lady Flames responded by taking the second and third game's. The Highlanders got as close as 22-18 but the Lady Flames stretched their lead in taking the second game. Liberty won 15 of the third game's first 16 points in cruising to a 2-1 lead. In the fourth game, the Highlanders got as close as 19-16 but could not overcome the Lady Flames Erin McKeown tallied a double-double with 18 kills and 13 digs for Liberty. On senior night Crystal Carey posted a career best 12 kills in helping the Lady Flames to the four-game victory. Elizabeth Aldredge and Christine German each tallied 12 kills to pace the Highlanders efforts. |
