Burch Tabs Podgorski As Assistant Volleyball Coach RADFORD, Va.--Radford University Women’s Volleyball coach Michael Burch announced today that he has named Therese Podgorski to the position of Assistant Volleyball Coach. “We are excited about adding Therese to our program,” Burch said. “Her personality and energy will become a tremendous asset.” She will be primarily responsible for assistance with travel, recruiting and scouting. Her duties also include in-game and practice coaching. A former standout player and assistant coach at Concord College, Podgorski played outside hitter for the Mountain Lions, starting every game in her four years there. She holds the school records for career kills, kills in a season and ranks third in career assists. “Therese has always been successful in volleyball. First as a First Team All-State selection, then again in college,” said Burch. “Being a leader and captain through her entire career, will bring the right attitude to our program.” Pogorski also played for the United States Junior Olympic Team as an outside hitter. She started every game during her five-year career, earning several honors. A native of Stuarts Draft, Va., Podgorski has spent the last year at the University of Virginia working on her Master’s Degree. She has two Bachelor’s Degrees from Concord, one in Psychology, the other in Environmental Science. |
