Wohlgemuth Name Highlander Classic MVP
Walling and Clayton All-Tournament Team

Radford, Va. --Three Highlanders were named to the 2004 Highlander Softball Classic All-Tournament Team with second baseman Lara Wohlgemuth (Centreville, Va./Chantilly) being named tournament MVP. Also named to the team were Amanda Walling (Summerville, S.C./Stratford) and Sara Beth Clayton (Chesapeake, Va./Louisburg College).

Wohlgemuth batted .462 with a double, three RBI, scored five runs and walked five times in five games for the Highlanders She recorded a 3-for-3 performance at the plate in the championship game against Albany. She also was perfect in the field on 14 attempts during the tournament.

Walling batted .429 with a double, triple, four runs scored, an RBI and a .714 slugging percentage. She was also perfect fielding the ball in 18 attempts, recording a team high 13 assists. Clayton batted .312 with a triple, home run, five RBI, four runs scored and a .625 slugging percentage. She also had a pair of outfield assists.
