Tangen Signs with Highlanders’ Men’s Tennis

Radford, Va. --Radford’s men’s tennis head coach Mike Anderson announced the signing of Marius Tangen to a National Letter-of-Intent. Tangen hails from Baerum, Norway where he attended the Norwegian College of Top Level Sports. He will join the Highlanders in January 2006 for the spring semester of the 2005-06 academic year.

Tangen is the No. 5 ranked open player in Norway and as a junior was the No. 1 ranked player in 14’s, 16’s and 18’s. In March, he competed for Norway in the Davis Cup dropping a close match to

the world No. 5 junior Sergi Bubka from the Ukraine.

"I am excited about playing college tennis and coming to Radford University. I am joining what looks to be a pretty good team and I hope to help them have a good season in 2006," said Tangen.
