Tennis Teams Split at Liberty Lynchburg, Va. - Radford's women's team (2-10, 1-5) picked up their second win of the season, defeating Liberty, 4-3, while the men (2-18, 0-6) fell to the Flames, 5-2. The women opened up taking two of the three doubles matches. The #1 team of Sydney Lindsey (Sutherlin, Va.) and Blaire Stover (Durham, N.C.) won in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-5) and RU’s second team of Jihane Najdi (Casablanca, Morocco) and Laura Dickinson (Roanoke, Va.) won 8-2. In singles competition, Najdi, Stover and Dickinson won their matches in straight sets to give the Highlanders the three points they needed to earn the win. In men’s competition, Liberty swept the doubles matches and won four of the six singles to take the win. For Radford, number four and five singles players, Khlaid Lhamidi (Casablanca, Morocco) and Dominic Soeur (Herndon, Va.) took home victories. Lhamidi won 6-3; 6-4, and Soeur in three sets, 6-4; 3-6; 10-4. The teams return home on April 4 when they host UNC Asheville at 2:00 p.m. Results Women’s Singles Results: |
