Radford Men's Golf Improves To 12th

ROCK HILL, S.C.-- Radford men's golf finished in 12th place with a 631 (326-305) at the 36-hole Winthrop Waterford Invitational at Waterford Golf Club. RU improved it's standing on day two after placing 14th after 18 holes. (Complete Results)

Senior Aaron Summers (Floyd, Va.) led RU, shooting a 149 (72-77), placing him tied for 13th. Sophomore Robert Nuon (Centreville, Va.) is in 58th place, finishing with a 161 (85-76). Sophomore Josh Meador (Glen Allen, Va.), posted a 162 (87-75), good for a tie of 64th place.

Freshman Hampton Ballard (Pearisburg, Va.) shot a 163 (86-77), placing him in a tie for 69th place. Junior Chris Bagg (Christiansburg, Va.) tied for 73rd overall with a 164 (83-81) to round out the Radford finishers.

Tennesee Tech won the event with a 589 (294-295). Matt Cook of Western Carolina took medalist honors shooting a 142 (71-71).

Radford is competing against 15 other schools in the event, including Big South members Birmingham-Southern, High Point, Liberty and host Winthrop. High Point (308-287-595) was the top Big South finisher, followed by Winthrop (309-297-606), Liberty (313-307-620), Birmingham-Southern (309-312-621) and Radford.

The Highlanders' next compete at George Washington Invitational, which is being hosted by GWU in Issue, Md. on march 14-15.
