RU Golf Coach Michael Grant Qualifies For U.S. Open Sectionals

RADFORD, Va.-- Radford University men’s and women’s golf coach Michael Grant has qualified for the U.S. Open Sectionals and will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open this weekend in Columbus, Ohio.

Grant captured one of the three sectional spots in the local qualifying round on May 12, shooting a 71 at the Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, W.Va. to tie for the third spot. He shot par on the first playoff hole to capture the final entry into Sectionals.

Grant will be competing for just one spot at Double Eagle Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio on June 6. If Grant can earn that top position, he will advance to the U.S. open, which will be played at Pinehurst, N.C.
