Radford Finishes Seventh At Big South Tournament GREENWOOD, S.C. - Radford’s men’s golf team finished in seventh place at the P.U.P.S. Big South Conference Championship, which concluded Monday at Greenwood Country Club. Aaron Summers shot a 70 on day three to post the second lowest round of the day among all golfers. Summers, a junior, finished with a 79-78-70-227 to check in as RU’s top finisher, tied for 17th overall. Junior Chris Gentile (80-80-71) and sophomore Chris Bagg (74-74-83) each finished with a 231 to place second for the Highlanders and tied for 26th overall. Senior Chris Clark shot a 76-75-84-235 to place 30th overall and fourth for RU. Freshman Robert Noon rounded out Radford’s finishers, posting a 88-84-77-249, good for 34th overall. The Highlanders finished behind High Point with a 309-307-301-927. Coastal Carolina won the championship with a three-day total of 866 (287-289-290). The Chanticleers’ Alvaro Velasco took medalist honors with a 211 (71-72-68) to lead CCU to the title and the automatic berth to the NCAA Championships. The Big South Tournament was the Highlanders’ final event of the season. |
