RADFORD, Va. – Radford University Athletic Director Greig Denny announced today, that Ryan Crush has been named Head Men’s Golf Coach.
Crush, a native of Roanoke, Va., takes over for Greg Sawyers whom departed this spring to pursue personal interests. Attending Radford University, Crush most recently served as a marketing intern with the Radford University Athletic Association for the 2001-02 academic year.
“We are excited to have Ryan (Crush) as part of the RU Athletic family,” said Denny. “We look forward to watching the Radford University men’s golf program grow under the direction of Crush.”
An accomplished golfer himself, Crush, finished second at the 1998 Roanoke Junior Championship and ninth in the Virginia State Golf Association State Amateur Qualifier. Familiar with the Roanoke Valley and New River Valley golf scene, Crush worked at both the Hanging Rock Golf Course in Salem and the Roanoke Country Club, as well as participating numerous area tournaments.
Crush returns an experienced team, including four seniors, who finished eighth in the Big South Conference Championship in 2002.
