Oliver, Fox Earn All-Conference Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Radford men’s basketball’s Chris Oliver and Josh Fox have been honored by the Big South as All-Conference and All-Freshman selection the League announced Monday in preparation for the 2005 Advance Auto Parts Big South Tournament.

Oliver, a sophomore from Kernersville, N.C. was named to the All-Conference Second Team. He leads the League in rebounding, averaging 7.1 boards per game. He has scored in double figures in all but four of RU’s games and he has broken the 20-point plateau five times. He is averaging 15.0 points per game to rank second on the team and sixth in the Conference.

Fox, a freshman from Staunton, Va. averaged 3.8 points per game. He scored in double figure three times and is shooting 47.1 percent from the field. Fox has also been a 3-point threat for the Highlanders, hitting 11 threes this year, including a key one at home against High Point to send the game to overtime.

Fifth-seeded Radford opens tournament play Tuesday at fourth-seeded Birmingham-Southern at 8:00 pm (ET).
