Highlanders Announce 2004 Field Hockey Schedule Radford, Va. - Radford field hockey head coach Jeff Woods, entering his 19th season at the helm, has announced the team’s 2004 schedule. The Highlanders will have six home matches and hit the road for 12, which include dates at NCAA participants Boston College, North Carolina, national runner-up Duke and two-time defending champion Wake Forest. Radford opens the season at home for the first time since 2000 when they entertain University of Maryland-Baltimore County on August 29 at 2 p.m. The Highlanders next three games are away from home, which includes a pair on Labor Day Weekend in Chestnut Hill, Mass. against Lock Haven and host Boston College. After a brief stay at home in their NorPac opener against Appalachian State on Sept. 18, RU hits the road for the nine straight dates. They will return to Radford and close out the regular season with four consecutive home matches, the final three against Conference foes Saint Louis (two) and Davidson. The Highlanders, who fell in the NorPac Championship Game in 2003, will look to take one step further when they head to Davidson University for the 2004 Championships to take place Nov. 4-6. |
